This listing is for the non refundable Month 1 instalment to book your place on our exclusive 'Happy Stitches Journal ~ Volume 2' Subscription Club designed by Sarah.
Back for a second year! Join us in 2022 to sew a beautiful hand quilted fabric journal, the second in our series. It will be a keepsake of happy stitches, that we're sure will become a much loved family treasure. There will also be opportunities to add your own personal little touches on some of the pages, this could be a button or piece of lace with a memory attached, or add an embroidered word that holds a meaning for you..... making your journal unique and special to you.
Sarah says "It had long been on my crafty agenda to make a fabric book, a fabric journal of sorts...I wanted to fill it with lots of happy hand stitches using my favourite techniques. I also knew that to satisfy my OCD tendencies, it would have to be constructed in such a way that it was neat and tidy, with no raw edges on show. Oh, and I also wanted it to be hand quilted...one of the things I love most as a quilter, is when you layer up a quilt top with wadding, how it transforms from a flat piece of fabric to something soft and squidgy and as you add the hand quilting, it becomes so beautifully tactile.
During the summer of 2019, I happily stitched twelve pages, each one loosely inspired by the time of year. I then hand quilted each page, finally joining them together with much excitement, to form the book. I had made various prototypes to ensure that the finished journal came together, just how I imagined! Throughout, I used a mix of beautiful Liberty Tana Lawn™, with my favourite linen forming the base of each of the pages. I was so thrilled with the final result, that as an afterthought, I added Volume 1 to the spine. Having enjoyed the process so much, I knew without any doubt that there would be many more books! "
We hope that you will join us for a year of happy stitches!
