This listing is for the non refundable Month 1 instalment to book your place on our exclusive 'Happy Stitches Journal ~ Volume 5 The High Days & Holidays Edition' Subscription Club designed by Sarah. This will be posted to you in January 2026.

Join us in 2026, to sew a beautiful hand quilted fabric journal, the fifth volume in our super popular series. Inspired by memories of 'Highdays and Holidays', the journal celebrates special days out, such as going to the seaside, a village show, a hot air balloon festival, a rubber duck race or perhaps visiting a historic home or garden. Sarah has also included both folk and religious festivals and holidays celebrated across the world, some more familiar such as Valentines Day, May Pole dancing and Diwali, bit also lesser know celebrations such as Wassailing, an ancient custom celebrated traditionally on 12th night in cider producing regions of England, where songs are sung in the orchards to promote a healthy apple harvest later in the year.

We hope that you will join us for a year of happy stitches!

What is the Happy Stitches Journal Club and how does it work?

The Happy Stitches Journal Volume 5, is a 12 Month subscription club running from January 2026 up to and including December 2026. Each month you will receive a parcel full of loveliness directly through your letterbox. This will include:

All the fabrics and if required, applique templates or English Paper Pieces for you to sew that months page, plus of course detailed instructions will also be included. Plus each month you will receive the embroidery threads in the exact same colours used by Sarah.
In addition, in February, April, June, August, October and December you will also receive wadding and binding fabric, to enable you to finish a 'double page' spread.
A spool of Aurifil 12wt is also provided in February for the hand quilting.
Finally, in month 12 you will receive an additional parcel to enable you to make the beautiful hand quilted cover.

How big is the finished Journal?

The book is approx 9" square and 2 1/2" thick.

What techniques will be used?

The journal combines a mix of Hand Embroidery, Applique, English Paper Piecing and Hand Quilting. You will also need a Sewing Machine for the book construction, although should you prefer you can of course stitch the entire book by hand.

Don't forget, in addition to the monthy instructions, there are also various 'a little happy tutorials' and handy tips on our Schoolhouse Website to help you along the way.

Will I receive exactly the same Liberty Tana Lawn™ fabrics as used in the sample?

We will where possible send the same fabrics as Sarah used, however as this is now our second year running this volume, there will be fabric substitutions. Rest assured, Sarah will choose something equally as scrumptious and the journal will retain the feel and character of the original.

What other supplies will I need?

EPP Supplies: for example glue pen & glue refills if you wish to glue baste or thread if you plan on thread basting, however all the papers are supplied.

Piecing Thread: Sarah used Aurifil 50wt #2311 in her machine and for the EPP, she then switched to 80wt for the applique.

Tools: Hand sewing needles for the applique, EPP, Embroidery and Hand Quilting, an embroidery hoop and your usual patchwork and sewing related tools.

Can I purchase the pattern on its own?

No, not at this moment in time...... Sorry!

How much does the Club cost?

The monthly Club cost including postage is:

Jersey and Guernsey Monthly Club Price ~ £23.75 (excludes UK VAT)
International Monthly Club Price ~ £34 (excludes UK VAT | sent via Priority Mail)
US Monthly Club Price ~ £36 (excludes UK VAT |in addition to Priority Postage this also includes the IEEPA Tariff and your parcel will be sent via Royal Mail's Postal Delivered Duties Paid (PDDP) shipping service)

There is also an option to pay for the whole year in advance and as a little happy thank you, this has been slightly reduced. Please note that we will continue to send your parcels monthly as above:

When and how will I make my payment?

You will be paying for Month 1 today when you book your place and your month 1 parcel will be posted on or around the 27th January 2026*.

*Whilst our very best intention is to post your month one parcel on the above date, as a small business we will be ordering the supplies required for the Journals once final numbers have been confirmed. Occasionally things can take slightly longer than anticipated, but rest assured your parcels will be posted as soon as we possibly can!

VERY IMPORTANT: On the 27th February 2026, we will update the Happy Stitches Journal 'Members Page' which you can find HERE, with a link to set up your monthly Paypal subscription, which will cover months 2 though to 12. Please make a note in your diary!

We are also more than happy for you to make your monthly payment to us from your Bank Account directly into our Bank Account, should you prefer this method, simply get in touch once you have signed up and we will provide you with all the required information.

By signing up to the BOM club you agree to take part in the 12 month program and it is non cancelable.
For our International customers who wish to join more than one Happy Stitches Journal club, we will send your monthly pages as one parcel. Please add all the journal reservations to one website order. On Subscription Day in February, there will be an option to set up a single subscription payment that will cover all the volumes that you have joined.
