VOLUME 2
The Happy Stitches Journal Volume 2, is a 12 Month subscription club running from January 2027 up to and including December 2027.
Back for an seventh year....join us in 2027 to sew our second journal from our super popular series. Each month, you will sew a page for your journal and these will include a lovely mix of techniques, including hand embroidery, English paper piecing and applique. Every other month, you will also add hand quilting which creates the lovely squishiness that makes the fabric book unique! It will be a keepsake of happy stitches, that we're sure will become a much loved family treasure. There will also be opportunities should you wish to add your own personal little touches on some of the pages, this could be a button or piece of lace with a memory attached, or add an embroidered word that holds a meaning for you..... making your journal special to you.

Each month you will receive a parcel full of loveliness directly through your letterbox.
This will include:
Detailed instructions.

Plus each month you will receive the embroidery threads in the exact same colours used by Sarah.
Then, in addition, in February, April, June, August, October and December you will receive the wadding and Liberty Tana Lawn™ binding fabric, to enable you to finish a 'double page' spread.

Some more useful information about Volume 2
How big is the finished Journal?
The book is approx 9" square and 2 1/2" thick.
What techniques will be used?
Volume 2 combines a mix of Hand Embroidery, Applique, English Paper Piecing and Hand Quilting. You will also need a Sewing Machine for the book construction, although should you prefer you can of course stitch the entire book by hand.
What other supplies will I need?
EPP Supplies: for example glue pen & glue refills if you wish to glue baste or thread if you plan on thread basting, however all the papers are supplied.
Piecing Thread: Sarah used Aurifil 50wt #2311 in her machine and for the EPP, she then switched to 80wt for the applique.
Tools: Hand sewing needles for the applique, EPP, Embroidery and Hand Quilting, an embroidery hoop and your usual patchwork and sewing related tools.
Will I receive exactly the same Liberty Tana Lawn™ fabrics as used in the sample?
We will where possible send the same fabrics as Sarah used, however as we have been running this volume for a number of years there will be fabric substitutions. Rest assured, Sarah will choose something equally as scrumptious and the journal will retain the feel and character of the original.
I have lots of embroidery threads and a fabric stash, can I purchase the pattern only?
Sorry, the Happy Stitches Journal is only available as a parcel full of loveliness through your letterbox each month. We do however have a growing collection of other PDF patterns and classes available on our Schoolhouse website, which you can visit HERE.
